Acknowledgement

By completing this registration process, I agree to all the terms below. I also acknowledge that Wicked Safety Training reserves the right to amend these terms, with or without notice. Additionally, I release Wicked Safety Training and its instructors of all legal responsibility for personal injury or property damage that occurred while attending a course.

Cancellations/ Refunds

There will be no refunds issued once the registration process is complete. Students can reschedule for an alternate date within 30 days of the original course date for a $40 processing fee. To reschedule a class, the student must contact the office by email or phone. Wicked Safety Training will do its best to honor rescheduling requests but holds the right to deny any request.

If Wicked Safety Training must cancel a course, the student will receive a call and an email from the office. Students must call the office within 30 days to reschedule, or there will be a $40 processing fee to reschedule.

Any students who fail to notify Wicked Safety Training of a cancellation or rescheduling request before their scheduled course will be considered a no-call, no-show. No refunds will be given for a no-call or no-show. No Call, No Show

Attendance

Students should expect to arrive 5 minutes before the start of their course. Only students arriving on time and admittance into the course will be accepted. Students who arrive past the scheduled course time will not be admitted and must pay the processing fee of $40 to reschedule, by calling the office.

Blended Learning (Online Course)

For any course that requires an online portion, the online portion must be completed before the start time of your course. Failure to complete the online portion will result in a forfeit of all course fees. Students may re-register with Wicked Safety Training for a fee of $40.

Certifications

The American Heart Association, Health and Safety Institute, and American Red Cross have switched over to the card system as a way for students to obtain their course completion records. Students will have the option to print and email a wallet-sized card and full-size course completion certificate. Certificates are generally issued on the same day but may take up to 48 hours. If you have not received the email after 48 hours, students can also attempt to claim their e-card using the following link: https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards. or  https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate

COVID Policy 

We follow the CDC guidelines, MA state policy, and the American Heart Association and American Red Cross recommendations. If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, please call immediately and provide a positive test result from a PCR test (from a medical facility). With a positive test result, we will gladly reschedule your training free of charge, within 30 days of the course date. 

Aquatic Class Policy (Lifeguarding/WSI)

We hold our courses in various settings with our aquatic classes, including indoor pools, outdoor pools, lakes, and ocean fronts. When dealing with an outdoor environment, the water can be cold, and the weather can be less than ideal. We understand, but as lifeguards and swim instructors, you must work in unideal conditions. When registering for an outdoor course, bring appropriate attire (wear warm clothes, water shirts, and wet suits). We will not cancel a class unless it is thundering and lightning, or we physically can’t continue to do so for the safety of the students and instructors. In that case, we will cancel that day but continue the course as typically planned the next scheduled day and hold a make-up class day.

If a student fails the pre-course session or fails to meet the requirements for certification, there will be no refunds. Due to the limited availability of seats in these courses, all aquatics classes must be canceled within a week of the course. Canceling an aquatics course within the week of the class start time will forfeit tuition. If you must cancel your course, we offer a 75% refund if you cancel five days before the course. To transfer to another course, there will be a $75.

Liability

The course you are attending may include physical activity and emotional stress. If your physician has recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise, there might be a better course for you, CPR or First Aid. Lifeguarding and Water Safety can be hard work! If you have a medical or cardiac history that may aggravate, you should check with your healthcare provider before taking this course.

Universal precautions and barrier devices are used in all classes. If you have any infectious disease or illness, reschedule to another class when you are well.

All participants must practice and perform the hands-on skills necessary in each course. Accommodations for injury or well-being may include but are not limited to placing mannequins on tables or chairs or restricting the number of practice repetitions. This course is only for you if you can physically perform all the required hands-on practical skills.

The American Heart Association and American Red Cross vigorously promote knowledge and proficiency in CPR AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding and have developed instructional materials. Using these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by these organizations, and any fees for such a course do not represent income.

Registration and attendance at this class imply that you understand the above information and consent to release the instructor and Wicked Safety Training from any liabilities involved.

The American Heart Association/ American Red Cross strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA/ARC courses and has developed instructional materials. Using these materials in an educational system does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA/ARC. Except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the AHA/ARC.
